Bangladesh's Highest National Engineering Designation
The Professional Engineer (PEng) designation is highest national engineering credential, awarded by BPERB to engineers who have demonstrated advanced professional competence meeting international standards. BPERB has awarded the PEng designation since 2003, under a process endorsed by the International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA) of the International Engineering Alliance (IEA).
PEng is internationally recognised proof of professional competence — valued by employers, regulatory bodies, and international clients. It is a prerequisite for applying for the IntPE designation and is a fast-track route to Registered Engineer (RE) status under BNBC 2020.
IEB-BAETE-accredited bachelor's degree in engineering. Non-accredited programme graduates are referred to the WA Equivalence Committee.

Minimum 7 years practical experience since graduation, including at least 2 years in responsible charge of significant engineering work in Bangladesh.
Evidence of achieving at least 30 CPD hours in the 12 months immediately preceding the PEng written examination.
