Pathway for Engineers Holding PE Status in IPEA-Authorised Countries
BPERB is currently a Provisional Member of IPEA. Engineers approved through this pathway will be awarded National PEng only at this time. Full IntPE registration will be available once BPERB attains Authorised IPEA Membership.
An engineer who holds an active Professional Engineer (PE) status in any IPEA-authorised member country may apply for PEng/IntPE recognition in Bangladesh without sitting a written examination or viva voce. This pathway leverages the mutual recognition framework of the International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA).
The applicant's engineering competence is considered substantially equivalent to BPERB's standards by virtue of their PE status in an authorised IPEA country, and accordingly no assessment examination is required.
Foreign PEs holding active registration in any of the following IPEA member economies are eligible for this pathway:
Download the PEng/IntPE Application Form for Foreign Professional Engineers (Appendix C.4) from the Downloads page.
Fill in all sections, including details of your foreign PE status and the country of registration.
Send your updated CV by email to registrar@bperb.net with the subject "Foreign PE Application – [Your Name]".
Log in to (or create) your BPERB portal account and submit the completed form with supporting documents.
Pay the applicable application fee via SSLCommerz or bank deposit to Mercantile Bank PLC.
Application & Registration Committee reviews your eligibility. Assessment & Moderation Committee and BPERB Board take the final decision.
Download the application form, send your CV to the Secretariat, and submit your application through the BPERB portal.
