Dr. Qumrul Ahsan is the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Asia Pacific (UAP), Bangladesh, where he leads with a vision to enhance academic excellence, research, and student development. With over 35 years of experience spanning industry, academia and administration, Dr. Ahsan has contributed to the advancement of higher education in Bangladesh. He holds a Ph.D. and has published extensively in national and international journals. Dr. Qumrul is also the key person of steering committee and facilitator of different universities for implementing Research and Academic Exchange Program. He maintains a rhetorical situation not only by transmitting knowledge, but also create knowledge through academic research and publications. Research experience so far spread over several key areas both in the scientific and applied domains and he has received significant funding for various research projects. He has authored over a hundred research papers, five book chapters, and four industrial modules. Dr. Ahsan has been committed to building long-term industry university relationships through research results and training, which positively impact industrial productivity and competitiveness. Dr. Ahsan has provided consulting services to numerous industries, focusing on engineering upskilling.

International Honors and Awards

He has received several international awards, including: Fulbright New Century Scholars – Research Fellowship (USA, 2009-2010), Visiting Fellow at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium (2002), Invited Researcher at Saitama University, Japan (July 2008), Commonwealth Scholarship for Ph.D. studies in the UK (1993).
